Add a touch of historic South Asian craftsmanship to your collection with this authentic 19th–early 20th century brass and iron betel nut cutter (sarota). Traditionally used across India and South Asia for slicing areca nuts, this hand-forged object doubles as a compelling sculptural accent or folk art specimen.

This piece features classic hand-punched dot-and-ring decoration running along the arched brass body and tapered handles. The outer edge is adorned with original dangling brass bell charms (ghungru), reflecting the ornamental style typical of regional metalwork from Gujarat or Rajasthan. The original iron blade remains housed within the brass sheath.

 Dimensions: 6.5" Length

 Materials: Brass, Iron

Condition: Excellent antique condition consistent with age and traditional use; exhibits a warm, rich natural patina and light surface wear. All original elements remain intact.
