Vintage Macau Porcelain Garden Seat with Birds & Wisteria

A striking vintage Chinese export porcelain garden seat, hand decorated in Macau with colorful birds, flowering wisteria, foliage, and blossoms against a dramatic black ground.

The cylindrical form features pierced cash-coin style openings and raised decorative bosses around the body, combining traditional Chinese design elements with the richly detailed export decoration associated with Macau porcelain of the later 20th century.

Especially appealing as a decorative accent, side table, plant stand, or occasional stool. The black ground gives this piece a particularly strong visual presence and makes it easy to incorporate into both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The underside bears a red export stencil indicating that the porcelain was made in Macau and hand painted.
