Chinese Famille Verte Style Porcelain Lamp

Chinese Famille Verte style porcelain vase converted into a table lamp.  

Item Identification  

 Style: The lamp is decorated in the Famille Verte (green family) palette, which originated during the Kangxi period (1662–1722). It is characterized by a dominant green enamel, often paired with iron-red, yellow, and blue.  

 Motif: The body features a dense floral and foliate scroll design with stylized peony or chrysanthemum heads, a common pattern in 19th and 20th-century Chinese export porcelain.  

 Form: The porcelain base is a baluster or ovoid vase shape, mounted on a turned dark wood (likely rosewood or ebonized wood) base typical of early-to-mid 20th-century lamp conversions.  

 Condition/Features: It includes a modern brass harp and a contemporary silk or paper hexagonal shade.
